Building Soundscapes: An Introduction to Modular Synthesis for Kids!

In this hands-on workshop, led by sound artist Juan Orozco, kids explore the basics of modular synthesis in a fun, intuitive way—turning cables and knobs into their own musical experiments! For this special occasion, we designed the Minisynth, the result of a collaboration between Otherthings and Manecolabs.

With this playful device, kids learn how sounds are shaped while drawing colorful connection diagrams to map their sonic discoveries. A perfect blend of sound, technology, and imagination!

Last weekend, we brought the Minisynth to Superbooth, where a few kids already got to try it out—now it’s time to dive deeper at miniBOOTH!
